Runs with scissors,
but doesn't eat paste

Drawing with black and white on tinted paper

Well, it's finished.  I finally finished Antigonish, and I'm pretty happy with it.  The challenge when drawing with only black and white colored pencils on tinted paper is that you can only adjust your values so much.  Colored pencils (even the best brands) become waxy on the paper after too many layers.  So, you have about 4 or 5 adjustments of black and white before it is unworkable.  I enjoy working on a tinted paper, letting the color of the paper become my mid-tones and using the black and white pencils to adjust the values.  It is a whole different challenge when working this way, rather than a pen and ink drawing.

I'm creating this blog to show works in progress, stages of development, and oddball stuff normally unseen in the portfolio.
