These images were created by drawing with glaze on an eight inch plate. I used a small bottle with metal nozzle to etch out the fine lines in each image. Inspired by Edward Gorey’s “The Gashlycrumb Tinies,” I chose specific friends and their particular characteristics as the basis for the designs. Though each drawing took on average five hours to create along with an immense amount of concentration, drawing with the glazes was a lot of fun and something I will continue to explore.
